This is a Mexican proverb that I heard yesterday.
While my hub-ub is a huge part of my home, I think that I am understanding that I need to be more proactive if I want things done in the home.
So it starts today…

I’m feeling like I’m being so much more productive on this goal this last week.
I’m keeping the kitchen looking pretty decent and the lounge just needs a good hoovering to look good…
I’ve put some pictures in for framing, changed a few of our “precious things” around and generally an feeling like I WANT to invest my time and money on my home. I’m also constantly thinking of how to prettify (what? It’s a real word!) our home.
We actually have some beautiful things so I want to make the most of them. As I’ve commented before, all of my goals seem to impact on each other as having a nicer environment and feeling like I’m taking positive steps is making me feel less stressed.
This site is great!
it’s a long story but I “accidentally” bought a 1950’s bureau from ebay…
After much laughter and a little bit of mockery from hubbie we went to get it and cleared out a space for it in the spare room.
It looks great!
I’ve also gathered all of my stationary and gift wrapping bits in it. The bottom drawer hold our gloves, scarves and hat too.
I feel organised (ish) and the room looks much nicer. Slow steps on this goal.
And looks really beautiful and dramatic. Hubbie said “we’ll just have to decorate the rest of the room now to do it justice”.
Yay!!!
I made a phone call on Thursday to get the loo fixed and lo and behold the plumber came this morning. Mission accomplished!
I have also bought myself something that I have longed for for many, many years. A huge, completely over the top but totally beautiful Rococo mirror. It’s still in the lounge at the minute but it’s a step towards expressing my taste and style in this house. Luckily Hubbie loves it too…
I got the most lovely ceramic spice jar set too which adds much needed colour to the kitchen.
I need to make that list of jobs to do…
I’ve had to take a day off work today as our boiler is playing up.
It has meant that I’ve cleaned and tidied as I’m waiting for the repair man…
That being said hubbie is going to pick up a new hoover as the soft bedding I described in the previous entry shed fluff all over the carpet!!
A good spring clean in time for Xmas…
Well I’ve invested some time in sorting, finding homes for things and cleaning.
The house is looking much better already.
I’m going to make a list of all the jobs that I think need to be done and then move forward. I’ll figure out which ones I can do, which ones I’ll need help for and which ones I’ll need a professional for.
My new bedding arrived today and it feels so soft.
I’m looking forward to using it.
I have a lovely house – it just needs some work to pull it all toghether.
I want a home to be proud of. I know it’s never going to be show home tidy but I want to have people over and for it to be easy and a joy.
I have some money in savings and want to buy a wood floor for the lounge.
I want to paint my horrible pine doors
I want decent curtains and soft furnishings in the lounge.
