move into my new house

We moved all of our things into the house and piano is being delivered tomorrow. Still can’t live there though…ugh! I just hope the sewer is working properly by the bridal shower i am hosting on aug 15th!

Escrow was supposed to close on April 24. It is now July 11th. I have learned that buying a brand new house is not as simple as it sounds. There may not be work to do, but man there is a lot of waiting for all the city permits!

The city civil engineer left the plans on his desk for two months because he was retiring and didnt feel like working. It finally got done AFTER he officially retired. Now getting the work orders for the sewer and the utilites is taking forever. I have a newfound hatred for Los Angeles. Thank goodness we were able to move our belongings into the garage. It makes living in the guest room of my parents house a little bit easier. Not fun having clothes in three separate rooms because there is no closet for us though!

It has been the hardest not to buy furniture, etc for the new home. Ooops…we bought a piano already because of the 4th of july sale and they are storing it for us at the store. We are storing brand new washer and dryer in the garage.

We also missed out on the 10k tax incentive. Sometimes it makes me want to cry. But the builder is going to build us a kitchen island to make us feel a little better.

Supposedly we can close in 10 days. I sure hope so because I am hosting a bridal shower on Aug 15th! Eeek!

Seems like everyone wants to be someplace else. I want to live and be in two places. Florida and here in Seattle. Just built a home in Florida and can’t wait to be spending time there. Still working in Washington and have to live here. I know i will miss Seattle when I move. Maybe I will find someone with a place here who would like to trade places once in a while. It would be great to have two places but can’t afford to keep both.

Well on Friday I got the keys to my new house! That was so exciting. My first house! Then on Saturday my mother and I went to Home Depot and picked out colors for the rooms and stuff. Tessa has picked a tinkerbell/fairy theme. She has a purple room with Tinkerbell aplicays on the walls with hanging fairies from the ceiling and stuff. it is really cute. My room is a light cocoa brown with a light blue/grey trim. It looks really really good. Then the living room and kitchen are a light key lime green. Now my bathroom is art deco-ish looking. It has this really neat wall light with a mirror on it (hard to explain) and the walls are like a burnt ash grey.

Right now we are ripping up the carpet and painting. Getting all the cosmetic things done, then we are going to move everything in.

ALMOST THERE!!!!

We are closing on the house on Friday!!! The house will be mine by this weekend! I am so close to fulfilling this goal. I am so excited now it’s time for my happy dance

I just moved out of my apartment and I am in between places to live right now. My daughter and I are staying with my parents until everything goes through with my new house. W put a bid on 2 days ago and they have excepted. Now the paper signing is in 3 days from now. I am so excited I am just not to thrilled about hauling all my shit into another place again. I will be so happy when this whole moving thing is over. I can’t wait! My first house!!!

My stuff from Cairns arrived a few days ago and we’re half way through setting it all up. I got a piano (not sure how good yet because needs a tune but got it for free!). Basically everything’s here so I have officially moved into my new house :D

I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE HIM! Been apart for about a month and it’s so great that he’s moving down here with me so I can do this, I LOVE HIM SO MUCH!

The piano and any of my stuff staying in Cairns is at my parents or my boyfriends parents and all of our stuff coming down here is on the truck. Will hopefully be here on Friday but maybe a few days after that, depends on how weather goes for them driving down. And…best part is we’re now officially out of our old place and my boyfriend will be down here on Tuesday! Can’t wait!!
