Tried it. Didn’t like it. Even too salty for me.

I just tried it and... 21 months ago

I love Marmite! It’s really good, but I can understand why some people hate it. If you haven’t ever tried it, then you definitely should. You may discover that you like it…or that you hate it!
:)

You have to grow up on it. 2 years ago

Most Americans don’t like Marmite or Vegemite. They didn’t grow up on it.

Had some in South Africa – one time is enough

Okay. Maybe just in small amounts.

Those of us here in the colonies can order it from The London Food Conpany in Montclair NJ.

Just for the sake of knowing 3 years ago

I don’t love or hate Marmite (or Vegemite, which I believe is what they call it in Australia). It’s yeasty and salty. I’m glad I tried it so I’d know what it tastes like, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to purchase any. I really prefer butter, jam or cream cheese on my toast.

Makes my mouth water just to think of it. Best with butter on toast.

Aaaaaahhhhhhhh!!! Marmiitee!!! NOOO pleaaseee!!! hahaa :D Oh dear!!! I’ll explain my story with Marmite… I went to UK last March, and stayed with a very nice, sweet, cozy and kind family :) By the way! :D In the morning they prepared me tea with milk yummmmmm!!! :D Neway, talking about Marmite :P One morning, my “mum” (I refer to the mother of the family :)) told me “what do you want with your toast? Jam? Or this strange thing Ali eats?” Ali, Alistair, was the son of the family, who was one year older than me, and with whom I made the exchange. So I said “I’ll try both” :D So well, I put jam on a toast, and then put Marmite on the other one, without being aware of its taste, which I’d meet some seconds later… I bit the toast… AAAAAAAHHHHH!!! It was SOO horrible I couldn’t eat it!!! Of course there are people who like it, but it was soo horrible to me!!! I eat everything, I mean, I like better some food and dislike others, but I eat everything, but Marmite is the only thing I just cannot eat!! Lol… it tastes too horrible for me. But wait, that’s not all xD In my Vipassana meditation course, last December-January, in the first morning, at 6:30am, the time we had breakfast, I took a dish, a tissue, and then took some bread, some butter for it, and then I saw this black food, which I didn’t recognize. I took some and put it on the other piece of bread, and took some more food. Neway, when I finally sat down with my milk and everything, I bit the toast with butter mmmm yummy. I finished it, and then I take the one with that black food I didn’t recognize… MARMITE!!! I had to throw the piece of bread away lol, since we couldn’t talk with the others (indeed we couldn’t even look at them, you had to feel alone), and couldn’t offer the rest of toast in case somebody wanted it (cause I hate to throw food away). I’ll try Marmite again, though, cause both times I tried it I was unaware of its so strong taste. So I want to try it being aware of it, and I’ll put a very thin and subtile layer of it on a toast to then taste it properly :) Marmite can probably be gorgeous, if you’re able to “tame” it ;)
