I have 10% of the sudoku puzzles on Brain Age completed and so my little brother felt like he has to beat me now and he doubled his percentage but is still behind me. ;) I’m getting better at these. I practice randomly.
One thing I’ve noticed that I do now is look at the “big picture” more and so I see if all but one of the bottom three boxes have a 2 I can figure out at least where the 2 would be in the other box and I usually can figure it out right there by comparing it with the vertical columns above it… It is hard to explain. :)
Edit: 12%!
I must admit…I could not come to grips with the fact that almost everyone around me was going ga ga with this Sudoku game madness. Well i finally gave in to the challenge presented before me and here I am…as hooked as everybody around me…try it during long hour flights and it will become as familiar as brushing your teeth,Bar none it will (I can swear on it)improve your cognition and mental agility and lower down your cardio rithm .(Statements not yet approved by FDA….lol) So..sudoku it is for me ….bye bye crosswords!

I enjoy doing sudoku puzzles much more than other puzzles, such as crossword puzzles. good activity to pass the time in a constructive (non-vegetative) fashion.
I have gone from zero skill to having much better pattern recognition. Not only do I understand the principles, but I’m able to strategize. Yay!

I’ve been on a “Sudoku Blitz” over the last couple of days. I’ve been obsessed. I’m happy to report that I am improving, so I could write off this goal as it stands. I stated that I wanted to improve, and I’ve improved. I can solve medium-rated soduku puzzles, not just the easy ones.
I just need to get a life, basically. Help me, I’m at the risk of becoming a sudoku junkie!
I do have to admit, though, there is tremendous satisfaction in meeting a goal, isn’t there?
I feel happy enough with where I am at the moment. I’m by no means great, but I know what to do to solve most puzzles, even if it does take me time to do some. I’m OK with how I am now.
I have Dr. Kawashima’s Brain Training on NDS and it has a sudoku section and I just dabbled and literally worked out the game only today! I am hooked and want to improve.
Got a great suggestion:
Free Daily Sudoku – free printable puzzles online or by email and RSS. Also has a tips page that is pretty good (but for beginners only).
