How to find an old friend

"I posted a "Looking For" ad online and within 5 days I found a friend I hadn't seen in 20 years!"
How I did it: First I Googled my friend and through reading news articles and other info, got an idea of where she was living. I tried phone listings for her name but no dice.
So I posted an ad on Kijiji, a free online classified service, in the "long lost relationships" section. I gave some info about my friend (name, occupation) and within a few days I got an email from someone who knew her from church! He passed my contact info to her and we reconnected by email.
Since then she's visited town and I got to hug her and hear her voice for the first time in decades. It was so special.
Lessons & tips: I thought about finding this friend for years but didn't do anything about it. Finally I decided to post an ad, even though it seemed like a real long-shot. Thank goodness some people read those "long lost relationship" postings!
Craigslist is another place you can post ads like this.

hello there my name is victoria marie macdonald and my motheres name is linda marie macdonald and were trying to find my uncle which is her brother its been a long long time since they have seen eachother,its been about 27 years, he was addopted out when he was about 8 years old his name at the time was Robert Wayne MacDonald, he had brown hair and brown eyes,he had an oval shaped face, he would have second degree burn scares on is right arm and first degree burn marks on his left arm and also his ear lobe is clipped, i believe he had lived on cathcart with his addopted parents for a while his birthdate would be Augest 27 1974…...his addopted parents are dutch-canadian, there religion is united,,,,im not sure what else to say but i would really like to find my uncle very much as i am 21 years old and i have not seen him at all yet and i would really like to meet him, his last name would be different it wont be macdonald anymore, but i do believe that the rest of his name is the same please help me find him….my email address is vmacdonald@ymail.com if anyone knows of anything please email me thank you so much

I’m trying to find a friend from my childhood. His name is Steven
Oliveri. We used to play hockey and handball in his driveway. I believe he now lives in Montreal,Quebec and he is a teacher. He is
about 51 years old. If memory serves me correctly, he was a hockey
fanatic and he has an older brother named Ronny who was into baseball.
I haven’t had any luck in my search so far. Anybody know where he is?

Seth Kent and I met at Myrtle Beach back a while. We enjoyed our time together and stayed close for many years after meeting by mail and a little notebook we started! Now, we have lost touch since I was off to college and would like to see how he is doing and what life is all about these days!

I knew him at Poitiers University (Vienne, France) in 1964-65 and really want to get in touch with him again. He was born in 1945 and his famil was living in Puyoo where his father was Postmaster, I think.
