publish my own comic book

That’s my grand dream. Ever since i got published in some crappy newspaper and heard people say like omg i get that paper just to read your comic strips, they make me happy bla bla. I want to have my own comic book. Or lots of them. So that lots of people would read them and become a bit happier. That’s my ultimate goal.

In the mid-to-late 80s there was something of a boom in self-published, xeroxed B&W minicomics, and Dishman was a part of that. I eventually published ten issues of it: the first six were collected and “professionally published” as a one-shot by Eclipse Comics.

I have no idea how relevant my experience is anymore, twenty years later, but there it is.
