Keith Pitty is aiming to be in bed by 11 pm tonight
I’ll finish reading GEB. I’ve put it aside for now, but intend to pick it up again the next time I have a week’s holiday. That looks like being in late December.

I want to do it sometime but not for quite a while. As well as being a big book I find it very thought provoking & want to read it when I have the time to do it justice.

I’ve enjoyed dipping into GEB again. It’s the sort of book that requires uninterrupted and quiet reading time, which was in short supply during my recent holiday. At least I read enough to make me want to continue…
Well… to be honest I already finished reading GEB. But I do want to go through it again at some point. There’s really a lot going on in this book and I feel that it could use some re-reading just to be safe. After all, only the very coolest of people actually read GEB and enjoy it.

I have a couple of weeks of holidays coming up soon. This will be an excellent chance to re-read this fascinating book. I started reading it many years ago but don’t recall finishing it.
I started this book a few years ago & read the first few chapters. I loved the style of it. I’m not very good at sticking to a book to the end even if it is a good book. I’ve had this as something “to get back to one day” for a very long time. I hope this goal will help my motivation.
I also have a copy of another of Hofstadter’s books, “The Mind’s I: Fantasies and Reflections on Self and Soul”. I haven’t looked at this yet other than a browse in the bookshop.
and my reading interests are really in other directions right now; I will pick this whale up again but not soon.
After months of laziness. It’s a very dated section about the brain, which contains all sorts of old research. But that’s ok. We get to feel smarter than the book for once.
I don’t think I will ever do it. I don’t think it’s worth it.. At least I have tried :)
