I had to put a pause to this because I simply don’t have enough time right now. I am planning on taking it up again when I come back from Switzerland next year. Until then, learning French will be my free-time-activity besides going to the gym.
I am sure that will get back to this, one reason is that I recently got a very pretty black coin hip scarf and it just makes you feel so feminine and sexy ;)

How to learn belly dancing"I'm sure this class would be much more fun if I had even the slightest amount of grace or rhythm, but it was still an interesting experience."
How I did it: I started researching belly dancing classes in my area, and just picked one that had great reviews and reasonably affordable prices. In all reality, I never thought of taking a belly dancing class before, and one day a friend of mine mentioned that she would be interested in taking it with me. So, I showed up for the introductory course at Fat Chance Belly Dance which has a great reputation. I learned a few hand moves and bumps and learned that my hips don't move as much as I thought they would. All in all, the class was fun for a first time experience. If I hadn't had so much on my plate already, I may have stuck with it to improve my skills. Everyone there was friendly.
Lessons & tips: Don't worry, everyone is learning, so just let loose and try not to focus too hard on what you think you might be doing incorrectly. It takes some dedication and practice to get this down, but everyone seems to have a good time doing it. Resources: Yelp Reviews You won't need the zils or outfits right away. Just showing up in comfortable workout clothes or even a long loose skirt should work for the first few lessons.

How I did it: Yelped Belly Dancing in Boston/Cambridge. Realized the first session at a place right by the T (Dance Complex -- Central Sa) started this Weds. Emailed the instructor about the possibility of a walk-in trial. Had to get over a ton of excuses I invented at the last min (too busy, GI issues, can't find the place, etc.) to suck it up and just do it. Turned out to be a lot of fun-- I struck up a conversatio… Read how I did it…

How I did it: My Auntie and I attended our local gym and she spotted notices on the activities board. Everyone just got on, and had a laugh. At first it was hard wor… Read how I did it…

I bought a beautiful deep pink velvet coin hip scarf and have decided to begin belly dancing lessons in two weeks time, I’m so excited I can’t wait! A wonderful girl I know has been doing it for a while and it’ll be a great way to meet new people I hope.

I really love belly dancing, and had some experience in it a few years ago, then unfortunately stopped practising. So this summer I am planning to go back into bellydancing if i find a good place to do it.
Been taking beginner lessons since December 2008. Our instructor is teaching us a dance for performance finally and I am working quite hard at the new coordination and rhythms I am having to learn for the style.
I look for ward to continuing in my training for a good while.
I actually started to go to belly dancing classes in october :)... the class is once a week and so far I have not learned much but it’s lots fun and I really like doing it. I makes me feel very feminine! Right now I still consider myself a beginner, so this goal will stay on the list a little longer.

I haven’t belly danced in YEARS but I started when I was eleven. Maybe ten years later isn’t too late to pick up again?!

I’m not exactly this culture’s idea of beautiful, but I have a husband who loves and adores me. I think it would be a fun and enlightening experience. I want to learn to be okay with myself the way that I am. Belly dancing would kinda be like therapy for getting over worrying about what others think.

I would love to belly dance, but I don’t have anywhere near me that teaches it. If anyone knows of any books or websites that will teach it please let me know.
