I’ve send out a handful of cards in the last week, allowing me to finally call my goal “send more handwritten cards” complete. It took me 15 months to send my goal amount of 43 cards. Very satisfied! It certainly has encouraged my writing habit, and I have several more cards I have in mind to send people soon.
I’m pretty confident more goals also will be completed this month :)

Doing stuff!
9 months ago
Been a busy week indeed. Usually I’m still able to make an entry on 43T every night, but this week I’ve been zombified by the time I reach home. Went out every night this week, doing all sorts of things related to my goals. Sometimes I get so wrapped up in listing, rather than living my goals. But this week was a good one indeed. Went to see a couple of live music acts, and also went to a comedy night. So this “goal within a goal” has proven to be a good one for me to adopt. Yeah!

Over the last few days I have;
- Cleared some more uberclutter (feels great!)
- Listened to some different cds that I don’t usually listen to, saw some live music
- Been reading “The Artist’s Way”
- Wrote a birthday card including photos, to post this week
- Been proactive about my finances, and have worked out my daily budget. I have gone over my budget with a couple of large purchases (eg. mum’s birthday present, concert tickets), but at least I know where I’m at, and am listing my purchases I will make in my next pay cycle, rather than spending now and thinking about it later
- Went to an art gallery, and did a little research on venue hire
I plan to keep this goal up until the end of February, so I can see what sort of progress I make in a month.
I’d like to see myself do some more with the following goals in the near future. Any progress at all will please me;
- Complete another sewing project. I haven’t touched the project for about a month. So a few stitches a night here and there will at least make some difference
- Learner Driver Test. I’d like to pick up the manual, practice the test questions…sit the test
- Watch comedy (I think this will happen over the next week or two, as I have a friend who is keen to go and looking at dates)
- Buy my own apartment. Well I’m not looking at buying an apartment in next few weeks, but a few more unit inspections would not be a bad idea if I can find some time to do so
- Decide what course I will do this year. As it is all ready the end of January, it doesn’t look likely I will go into full time study this year. I need to spend some “me” time, looking at part time TAFE or college courses. Thankfully I’ve had the guitar lessons to keep me feeling like I am learning and growing. I am eager for more learning though, and this year feels so right for it!

So I think I’ll keep this goal up for a few weeks, trying to pay attention to the quiet goals. Over the last couple of days I’ve been listening to music, playing guitar and being slighty proactive with my finances. The good news is, I heard from the bank, and the account situation I was trying to have attended to over the weekend has been sorted. So tomorrow’s task is to set up a direct debit to one of my minor accounts to activate the bonus interest. I will need to be very firm with others regarding my finances too. I’ve noticed people are only to happy to encourage me to buy things I don’t need, with my money (which I do need). No more of that.
Over the next month I must remember to try to send out at least four letters and clear some uberclutter!

This weekend I did several things related to my goals;
- Be proactive about my finances – I have had a dormant bank account for some years in one of the banks. I finally went to the bank and have arranged for that account to be closed and the funds to go to a new interest bearing account
- Listen to more music – I received a cd as a present. A band named Fleet Foxes. Listened to it this weekend. It’s my style, so I’m very happy! I love being introduced to new music by people with great taste
- Get a bike – If I were more gymnastic I would do a cartwheel or headstand or something. One of my magical friends has found a bike that is just perfect for me. It needs some love, new parts and repairs. I’m up for it! I now have wheels! So good :)
- One word resolution for 2009 (Opportunity) – It’s never been too far from my thoughts. I’ve taken the opportunity this weekend to catch up with some people and visit a place I don’t get to see so often. Turned out to be a beautiful and unforgettable afternoon
- Visit the local bath house – I visited the bath house to enquire about hours and prices, and it seems all nice and no uncomfortable vibes. So I shall book in for one of their treatments either this month or after next pay. But I’m much closer to achieving this goal now

how many things I do each day towards my goals as opposed to logging on and looking at my goals or writing entries about them. I’m also wanting to pay more attention to which goals are dormant, and if they really should be on my list at the moment. So I’m looking at monitoring this over the next month. I also hope by setting this up as a goal, it will help me to achieve some of my things faster. Some of these goals (the handwritten letter goal, the uberclutter goal) should be able to be completed very soon if I have some focus!

Short of adding “Breathe” as a goal, this isn’t going to happen.
Hey, I’m not lazy, I’m “Bohemian” ;P

Redecorate my bedroom – I ordered my new bed
Join a gym – picked up a brochure from the new gym
Learn to drive – got a semi-decent passport photo taken so I can finally send off my provisional drivers license form

I’m adopting this goal because I find it all too easy to just come on here and fritter my time away on fun but certainly not life-changing goals. I need to bear in mind why I created an account on here in the first place and get those long-term goals off the backburner.
