talk to my family more often

i am 150 miles away from my family. that doesn’t sound like a lot. but with gas prices the way they are, and working full time, and all the other day to day shit we deal with…it is a lot.
add to that…neither my dad nor i have ever been too fond of phones.
but this is something important that i want to do. i truly have an awesome family and would like to talk to them all more often. i just get preoccupied, and they do the same…and we don’t talk much.
what i need to do is just pick up the phone more often and call them for the hell of it. just to bullshit. whatever. it’s not like i can’t afford the phone calls. cell phone, free nights & weekends.
and now that i have some free time, i’d like to actually visit them more often. my dad was always gonna teach me how to shoot guns and never had time.
well, he’s recently retired…he should have time, and i’ll make time. that is something i’ve always wanted to learn and it’ll be a bonding experience.
last time i visited, he and i took an axe to his old hard drive. it was fun. we need to do shit like that more often. time to reconnect with the family. hells yeah. long overdue.

When I first moved out I talked to my family almost daily. Now I’m not living by myself I do it less often but I don’t want to be one of those people who only talks to their family every so often.

Sick day means long phone calls to my sister. This makes me happy.
