Stop wanting

This has to be the hardest thing to attain in life, and yet it quite possibly contains the highest rewards.

Ha the conundrum of the day…

I’m writing about my desire to stop wanting, under the title “I want to:”

Oh well… I mean in the sense of acquiring things, not desire itself.

to put an end to ‘wanting’ in the superficial sense one must inquire as to who is doing the wanting. what is your self? who is this ‘I’ that wants such and such? why does this self want such and such? to put a stop to desire and wanting you cannot begin with desiring and wanting! if you want to stop, you will never stop. rather, one must observe the actions of the mind upon the arrousal of a desire, and when the truth about the nature of desire is known, it will end itself. a wiser man than myself once said there are no problems, only the mind. ask and ye shall receiveth!

I want to start accepting rather than stop wanting. They are two different things, and I didn’t realize that until just now.

I can't! 3 years ago

I just keep wanting and wanting, more and more! If I want something and eventually have it, I always find something else to go after. I need to get this whole thing out of my system, why can’t I just be satisfied with what I have already?

What would make life worth living? 3 years ago

I’ve decided wanting is one of the things that makes life worth living. Life would be pretty boring otherwise.

I got in the mood to visit 43 things and add a few more ‘wanna dos.’

But ultimately, I want to stop wanting. Is it better to just stop? Or trying to finish all of them?
