read Karl Marx

When I was an undergrad studying economics, I read a lot of Karl Marx.

Many people don’t recognize the important contributions Marx made to mainstream economic thought, including an understanding of the business cycle.

I’ve never been a communist or socialist. In fact I detest economic coercion in all it’s pervasive forms. But I think everyone should read some Karl Marx.

This week, I learned about a local reading group. I have their schedule. Right now, I’m trying to read to catch up with the church reading group (an Anne Rice book) so I know I can’t do both. The Marx groups meets monthly. Maybe I can pick up with them in March, after I’m done with the church’s book & schedule.

I bought a book for a quarter. I am equipped to sit down with Mr. Marx.
