know what my favorites are

Random:
Favorite restaurants: “The White Dog Cafe,” Philadelphia and “Wok,” Bogotá.

10 Favorite music groups (in order): Bjork, Franz Ferdinand, Interpol, Moby, Cat Power, Iron Maiden, Sigur Rós, Pink Floyd, U2, REM.

Favorite TV Show: Don’t watch enough TV, but I think Colbert Report and the Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

Animal: I really like bunnies. And dogs. Anything else would be too exotic or out there, and these are the ones I have always liked having around.

Food: Asian (sushi and Thai really get me). Pancakes and/or waffles. Chocolate. Fried plantain (green and ripe).

I have to do a lot of exploring to do with books, films, and poetry (although, with the latter, I do know that my favorite poet is Sylvia Plath—I just don’t know which is my favorite poem), before I figure these two out. But, for now, this is it.

Cherries.

Ultramarine blue. This actually became my favorite color when I was very young, and saw it for the first time in a colored pencil box. I loved that shade of blue.

It just so happens that lapislazuli was used to make the pigment for ultramarine blue in the past, and that I have worn a very big lapis ring on my right hand for years now. Coincidence? I think not.

I never know what to answer when somebody asks me this. I know some, but not others. I think this largely has to do with not having had much fun these past few years. Let’s start trying to identify these things for now.

I did complete a list of 100 things I enjoy doing that don’t directly involve money. I’ve been using it to remind myself to explore what I like to do.

I started a list! and yes yes I know it is ever changing, but it’s nice to acknowledge it even if just for a moment.
