My boys are 16 and 9 and while I try to be a fun, cool mom, I think it is just as important to be a good role model and authority figure. I think too many people try to be their kids “friend” and the kids lose out! While they are young, they need a parent more than a friend. Kids are looking for boundaries, it gives them a feeling of security. My parents did a great job and I respect that. Now as an adult I consider them 2 of my closest friends! What is the kind of mom everyone wants? I am interested in hearing what people have to say
