EmleepcBaked Ziti---made this last night...

Baked Ziti I

Prep Time: 20 Minutes
Cook Time: 35 Minutes Ready In: 55 Minutes
Servings: 10

Ingredients:
1 pound dry ziti pasta
1 onion, chopped
1 pound lean ground beef
2 (26 ounce) jars spaghetti sauce 6 ounces provolone cheese, sliced
1 1/2 cups sour cream
6 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Directions:
1. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add ziti pasta, and cook until al dente, about 8 minutes; drain.
2. In a large skillet, brown onion and ground beef over medium heat. Add spaghetti sauce, and simmer 15 minutes.
3. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Butter a 9×13 inch baking dish. Layer as follows: 1/2 of the ziti, Provolone cheese, sour cream, 1/2 sauce mixture, remaining ziti, mozzarella cheese and remaining sauce mixture. Top with grated Parmesan cheese.
4. Bake for 30 minutes in the preheated oven, or until cheeses are melted. 2 years ago


EmleepcBANANA BREAD--making this one this weekend.

BANANA BREAD

3 or 4 ripe bananas
1/3 cup melted butter
1 cup sugar (can easily reduce to ¾ cup)
1 egg, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon baking soda
Pinch of salt
1 ½ cup of flour

No need for a mixer for this recipe. Preheat the oven to 350° F (175° C). With a wooden spoon, mix butter into the mashed bananas in a large mixing bowl. Mix in the sugar, egg, and vanilla. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and mix in. Add the flour last, and then mix. Pour mixture into a buttered 4×8 inch loaf pan. Bake for 1 hour. Cool on rack. Remove from pan and slice to serve. 2 years ago


EmleepcBuffalo Chicken Dip

Made this for a Labor Day gathering——it was a big hit, and it’s really yummy!

Buffalo Chicken Dip
4 chicken breasts (or any kind of boneless chicken meat)
1 bottle blue cheese dressing or ranch dressing
1 8 oz. package cream cheese softened
1 small/medium bottle Frank’s hot sauce (depending on your taste)
1 package shredded cheddar cheese

Boil (or simmer) chicken in water (or optionally, chicken broth) for 30 minutes or until cooked.
Heat oven to 425°F.
Mix cream cheese, blue cheese (or ranch), hot sauce together in a bowl. Shred chicken in a separate bowl. Pour cheese mixture over chicken. Mix in 1 cup shredded cheese.
Spread mixture into a 9×13 pan. Sprinkle remaining cheese on top.
Cook for 20 minutes or until cheeses becomes bubbly. 2 years ago

Did this one for Thanksgiving last year and it was a big hit…

optional—chopped celery and onion

2 eggs beaten

1 1/2 cups bread crumbs

1 can cream corn

1 1/2 cups milk

1 cup grated cheese

Mix all together. Pour into casserole dish. Bake at 350 for 40 minutes or longer—until corn is set. 2 years ago
