How I did it: We hired a guide for 2 mornings, and did the rest on our own. It's important to plan where you want to go, because traveling the roads is touch and go since the Bison use them to migrate. Read how I did it…

How I did it: The first time was with my family as a kid. We stayed in a cabin, saw all the usual stuff (geysers, bears, buffalo, etc). The second time was with a friend and we traveled all over the park. This park shows ancient and modern environments of our planet - it is a holy place. Read how I did it…

How I did it: My family has taken two vacations to Yellowstone in the past five years. It is breathtaking and spectacular, as well as crowded. Being able to see the animals is by far the best part. I've seen buffalo, elk, deer, moose, marmot, prarie dogs, chipmunks, squirrels, black bear, eagle and springbuck among other animals. We had our car charged by a male buffalo last summer which was kind of interesting. And o… Read how I did it…

this is definitely worth it. everything there is amazing. you should set aside maybe a week or two and just go there and see the geysers, hot springs, animals, lake and the whole beauty of the park.
greenforlife is content.
But I want to go and experience it again. now that I will remember it. And embrase it’s beauty even more then I already did when I was little. I would love to go camp there… but that’s kinda scary…
Everyone should go here at some point in their lifetime. It was unbelievable!

I’m not big on camping but I love nature. I don’t know what makes me want to visit this place, but I want to. I’m not too awful far from it, just a state away. I have this feeling that if I visit, something awesome will happen…don’t know what, but it will probably be nature related. The forest itself just seems magical. I don’t know, I just want to visit.
Just got back from two weeks on the road and almost 3200 miles… Yellowstone was FABULOUS! The scenery was FABULOUS! The wildlife was FABULOUS! We also included visits to The Badlands, Mt. Rushmore, Devil’s Tower, The Grand Tetons and minor stops in Mitchell, SD, Wall , SD and Cheyenne, WY. Did I mention it was FABULOUS? In Yellowstone, there was plenty of hiking, wildlife viewing, unusual geothermal wonders, geysers, waterfalls, rivers lakes and friendly park rangers to help get the most out of your visit to the park. *

Yellowstone is simply the most amazing National Park. It has such a variety of natural wonders and gorgeous scenery. I’ts also fabulous for watching wildlife. You can see grizzly bears, brown bears, pelicans, wolves, and or course buffalo. And the geysers are amazing, as well as the other thermal feautres like the bubbling mud pots.
I’ve been there at least four times. I was looking through old pictures with my mom and found an amazing picture from the early 60s which my parents took, of another (stupid!) tourist feeding a bear from their car! I should scan that slide, it’s incredible.
I can’t say enough good things about Yellowstone. Take your kids, you’ll have a blast!
I went when I was younger and although I don’t remember much a few things I do remember was going through a red-wood forest and seeing a tree so big that it would take a family of four to be able to hug the base (so says the tour guide). Another memory was when we were driving we saw a baby bear on some rocks by the side of the road and we pulled over to take pictures (along with many other tourists) and then the mom bear came out and well let’s just say she scared us off. Last but not least were the geysers, and then there we water buffalo not too far from them.
Amazing.
Spend at least three days on this trip, get accommodations at Jackson Hole, drive through the Tetons. Activities include skiing, nature photography, hiking, hunting, horseback riding, golf, biking. Yellowstone National Park includes geysers, volcanic vents, mud pits, yellowstone canyon and waterfalls.
