After a brief holiday season hiatus, yoga has resumed at work. Nice! Someday I’ll actually be flexible to complete several poses!

Hiring a private instructor was a great idea. I have accountability for keeping up with my practice as well as help in developing a beneficial one.
I rarely miss a day – the only exceptions have been days where I’m too sore from it to even consider busting out a downward dog. Thankfully, that has just been a day here and there.
I can feel that I’m stronger which is pretty cool. I notice it when retrieving dropped items from under desks or taking flights of stairs much more quickly than before.
Plus – it’s calming. An all around great addition to my life.
OH. MY. GOODNESS. So sore. So happily sore.
In hot pursuit of this goal I splurged and hired a private yoga instructor to help me develop a home practice. It’s kinda pricey but it’s a) cheaper than therapy and b) probably just as good. She comes by once a week for the first few weeks and then checks in monthly or so after that.
Today was Lesson One and it was totally great. Challenging and calming at the same time. The type of yoga she teaches ties movements to breathing so it has this meditative quality about it even though you feel as though your legs could give out AT ANY MOMENT.
So I’m sore and happy about it. And looking forward to doing more tomorrow.
