I’ve been wanting dreads for awhile now and was originally going to go with the backcombing method but all my friends who said they would help kind of backed off the idea and i cant force people to help me because that would be kind of bad right? so I’ve been going the neglect method for a few months now but I’m afraid of how the dreads will look i don’t want them to be terribly different in size and what not so I’ve been thinking back on the backcombing method….maybe i can get someone to help me section it and then ill do the hard part. oh well we’ll see!

How I did it: I backcombed my hair, and it took about six hours total with the help of my mom and sister. It was a crazy process. I had the dreads themselves for about two months before I decided that I was ready for another change, and combed them out, and then cut my hair short! Read how I did it…
How I did it: Welllllllll.... My friends did it, really. they backcombed random bulks of hair, then rubber banned it. Took 20 hours. I looked crazy the first week or so. Read how I did it…

How I did it: My friend did them for me. They are still new so they are a lot of mainanance at the moment. I kept some hair in the front for security hair, this way if i end up cutting them off someday i will still have some real hair. i really like them and a lot of people like them on me. How I did it: I was only 10 when I got mine, and my sister did them, and I don't really remember, so this is meant to be more of encouragemental then directional.Personal Opinion: everyone should get dreads. white, black puerto rican, asian, what ev. EVERYONE. Its such a great thing, and so rewarding. it's natural and beautiful and i love looooong hair freaky people. Do it Do it Do it. go out and do it. tomorrow. dont procrastinate. do it tod… Read how I did it…

I finally managed to grow out my hair (over my shoulders) and then one crazy night i “decided” (for whatever UNKNOWN reason) to chop it all off (now it’s a little longer than my earlobes) and i shaved it all off underneath… Still not TOO sure why i did this… but it is STILL long enough for dreads…. And since there is not much i can do with it right now.. I might just go ahead and get the dreads :o)
kept them for a week. My girlfriend didnt like them but it was awesome while it lasted.
Don’t know when though. Not soon :(. I decided to first dye my hair rainbow and blue and turquoise are also still on the list. After that I want my dreads back. It’s been almost a year since I had them already and to be honest I start to miss them more and more. I’m guessing winter also isn’t the best season to get dreads, so maybe next spring?

Dreads are so sexy. I think they look absolutely awesome (if they are done right and cared for in the correct manner). I really must have dreads SOON. A few people say they will do the dreads for me, but i don trust their “expertise” :op
I must get them done and the only way i would probably be satisfied is if they are done proffesionally – but dreadlocks in this country are very EXPENSIVE… must get a job a.s.a.p and work my ass off to pay for them :oD
It randomly occurred to me the other day that getting dreads would be frickin sweet ass, but I can’t do it right now because I have crazy layers in my hair that would probably stick out at weird angles.
I’m for sure doing it after they grow out, though.
OMFG_itsvictoria is kickin it
i’m just waiting for my hair to grow right now.
it’s like down to the point where i can reach around and twirl it a tiny bit.
i won’t do it until this summer. because its really going to suck looking homeless for 3 months. but it’ll totally be worth it
lol
