books books BOOKS! 19 months ago

My mom gave me a bunch of books to read after I got home from visiting her (she lives two states away). I told her about Book Crossing and releasing books and we decided that it’d be cool if we were to do that. So, I have a stack of books to read now that have all been registered and have their numbers written neatly on the inside of their covers.

Too bad I don’t read as much as I used to LOL!

Well, I have to say, this sounds like fun. Unfortunately no one does it in my city, so it may be slow-going at first. Perhaps it’ll pick up, perhaps I’ll be short a few books. Either way they’ll find their way into the hands of new people.

I’m really fond of all of my books, but I think I’d love to share some of them with the world, too. So, I’m going to keep The Princess Bride (018-5904143) on me until I can find a good place to release it. Perhaps I’ll go out to eat?

I’ve released some. Maybe someday I’ll release some more.

    I found a book!!! 2 years ago

I’ve known about bookcrossing for several years now and never got round to releasing a book, however today I found a book in a shopping centre (had at first thought someone had forgotten their shopping), anyway I’m going to have to release it back it the wild once my dad has finished reading it. Altho to complete this I guess I’m still going to have to register some and release them. I’m such a plonker, last week I took a huge bag of books to the charity shop instead of remembering to release them. When I release the book I found I think I might do quite a few so that this goal won’t haunt me any longer.

When I moved, I took all of the books that I was going to get rid of and registered them at book crossing and left notes inside them before donating them to goodwill. One got found in a matter of hours, and that was really cool, and the rest still haven’t been found. I’m sure they will be eventually and I will be very happy then!

I’ve decided to give bookmooch a try instead on this one. I just find the system easier to navigate there.
