take up fencing

i have wanted to try fencing ever since i was really young.
So when i realized our local art center was doing fencing lessons this year i signed up.
Well its a lot harder than it looks and im always sweaty and exhausted. but its rewarding to finally have that mask on and stab people. haha. im not sure if i will ever be in the olympics for it but its pretty fun.

- and beware the people in the classes cause there are some interesting characters

Ever since I was a kid I wanted to learn fencing. I’ve been researching places near my house but its so expensive. I’ll have to wait awhile before I can actually start lessons to save up some money. My boyfriend used to fence and offered to help teach me basics so I may have to take him up on that.

Actually I am. I don’t think we lefties have much of an advantage but we’re extremely popular. All the righties want to practice with us so they know what to do when we show up on the scene :)

I’ve been curious about fencing for years. I’ve heard there was a time when left-handed people had more of an advantage, but not so much anymore. I’ve got to do this one day.

i called to see about registration and there is lots of room! i will go maybe tomorrow or next week to register! WOOOT!

i would like to take up fencing! basically that is the jist of it. i think its a romantic sport. and i am a huge romantic. it was a toss up between fencing and archery but fencing is closer (at school) rather than in the north end. i will call tomorrow!

I promise to do this when I next have an evening free. I have been on about it for years and I know of aclub close by but I do pilates that night..

I hope the next guy I date irl doesn’t mind sparring with me! Now to get a pair of foils and some gear… ack! that costs money :/

There are plenty of academies, and I could use the exercise. I guess on some level I’m waiting for someone to give me lessons for a present.
