go to the dollar store beside the grocery store

. . . and the gift bags were great. Some were trimmed in fringe and ribbon, some were shaped like purses. I bought six. I am always needing gift bags. I buy them at Target on sale after Christmas at 75% off, but of course, those are Christmas bags. These are very cool.

As I walked down the aisle, I saw two older women-say, late 60’s-one white an one black. The black woman had nothing in her cart but necessities—bleach, soap products, and the like. The white woman had Thanksgiving decos and such. She said to the black woman, “Ohhhh, isn’t it just so much fun shopping here!” I am sure she had not even glanced at the black woman’s cart, but I just cringed. For some, the dollar store is necessity, not fun.
