I made a papier mache mask on the weekend, just have to paint it up.
How I did it: I made a paper mache mask on the outside of a balloon, let it dry for a few days, then painted it white, and let it dry.
I looked up No Face on google image search, and got the basic design of his features there, painted it on my mask.
I got about 5m of remnant black fabric from my work (free!) and cut a bit off to make a hood to attach to the paper mache mask, the rest of it i'll just drape over my shoulders and pin or staple around my neck...I'm too lazy to hand sew it all.
Lessons & tips: Preparation and give yourself plenty of time...I didn't

I want to make a No Face (from Spirited Away) costume for Halloween.
I have black fabric to make a sort of cloak. I bought balloons today to make a papier mache mask.
I grabbed this photo from the internet, but hopefully I can make something as good, if not better.
I only have until halloween.
nufan is postponing alot of things :(
I’m so excited ‘cause I have 2 Halloween parties this year! Halloween is my fave day of the year. The darkness of it and that you get to be someone else for the night appeal to me :D
Costume-wise I am going as Pippi Longstocking (‘cause I wish I was able to live life the way she does!) and my boy wants to go as the Joker from Batman.
Soooo I need…
For Pippi;Eeeeeeee fun!! :D
I made a cheerleader Sandra Dee costume for work – long red skirt, white sweater with the felt “R” and megaphone, bobbie socks and Keds, and red and white pom pons. Perfect!
I’ve also made a pirate wench costume and a 20’s flapper dress, all from things I got at Goodwill. The flapper dress is very pretty with layers of heavy black beads.
Keri West is looking for a new hobby.
I love the scrap bins at fabric stores! I was able to get a nice tattered piece for a pirate skirt and hardly any sewing required :) Add a tacky lace-up vest and boots from the thriftstore and voila, done. Now thats my kind of project!
Man, I worked every day up until Halloween, and on the actual day I slept in, sick. Phooey!
Still, I’ve got a great costume idea, which I will make for future parties and Halloweenyness, so the thought will not die out.
