My cousin gave me a pair of boots somebody left at her place during a party in 2003. I took them home, and let them age a year before I remembered I had them. I’ve worn steel-toed workboots for years but in college I wanted to be more intimidating (kidding) and even taller so I sought out a pair of combat boots in my size, with heel to them.
Didn’t happen.
Eventually I found the pair of boots from my cousin and wore them a couple of times. I hated them. 6 years later, I’ve been wearing them for 5 years in a row. They’re a great summer boot, nice and cool since they now have holes in them. They’re a great winter boot, before the holes that is, because they’re warm and have good grip on them. I’ve seriously worn the boots throughout every season for years.
And now they’re falling apart. The platform is beginning to seperate from the heel of the boot so one day as I’m walking it’ll fall off (this has happened before, Thank you Demonia for your fine footwear!) and I’ll crazy glue them together again. And I’ll paint a new layer of black nail polish and use a Sharpie to make them look brand new until they become unwearable. Or until I find a new perfect pair of boots!
Is it really too much to ask to find a lace up pair of boots (no eyelets) with a 4” platform in the front AND back, a wedge of nothingness (I guess this makes them Chunky Boots and not Platforms) in the middle, all black, and not made of that ugly fake-leather crap?
Yes, it is too much to ask. And my search continues.

As maJoiedemeure. I want leather, slighty below the knee boots.
The only thing I’ve found that is exactly what I want are these: http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1099/1354352364_63d4a4cdb5.jpg
They are Rachel Comey Flats, but they cost $420 dollars, and are sold out. :(

The no shorter than 4” heels of my Vegas boot collection are not meant for Seattle..
I’m in desperate need of pedestrian, rain friendly chunky combat style boots…

I’ve been looking for the perfect pair of brown leather, just-below-the-knee, flat boots for over a year. I saw a girl in Boston wearing the PERFECT pair and asked her where she got them, and she said they were Nine West, but from a few seasons ago.
haven’t gotten around to searching for any websites or stores who might stock back-season shoes, but I still haven’t forgotten those boots… I should’ve offered to buy them off her. :)
