But you know how you think you look ok then you leave and think what the hell kind of drug was I on when I picked out my clothes?
Yeah. That happened to me today.
I need my high school friend Jeneen back. She was my style guide. Without her I am utterly lost…
I think maybe I should attempt to buy one whole outfit a week instead. Not like shoes and accesories or anything but at least two or three pieces.
Like if I see what I like on the mannequin, buy the clothes and wear them just like that cuz it means someone with more fashion sense than me put the look together.
Been putting more thought into what I wear to work. It is really hard though cause like I’ve said before, my clothes really really suck. They are lame and boring and out of style. They are faded, shrunk, ripped, and fraying – and not in any intentional trendy way. Yes I know I need to go and buy some, but I have sooooooooo many bills that need to be paid. And I don’t wnat to stick too much more on my credit cards.
So here is what I have planned. I am going to try and buy ONE item of clothing a week. It has to be cool or else I don’t buy it. And it has to be inexpensive. And I have to be able to wear it with some of the cool clothes I already have so I can actually make an outfit. I am thinking of H&M, Urban Outfitters, Forever 21, Charlotte Russe, vintage & thrift stores, and once in a while Old Navy has cool stuff. Also someone told me about a store called Hot Topic but the closest one to me is Queens.
All this week I dressed really nice. Heels and all. And I soooo felt prettier!
I pre-picked my outfit last night. It was so easy getting ready this morning. :)
I have to keep doing this.
I pulled ALL my clothes out of my closet and I am going skirt by skirt matching them to every shirt and sweater I have. And I am weeding out what doesn’t fit anymore and putting them in my “thin clothes” pile – an idea I got from my friend who lost alot of weight – it gives you motivation and makes you feel like you have new clothes when you can fit into something that a month ago was too tight.
It will take a while to sort through all my clothes. I am going to try and get as much done this weekend as possible. And then maybe if I do one skirt a night I will be done by the end of the month. Sadly, just in time for spring which means I’ll have to do it all over again with my spring/summer clothes! :@
