sell a screenplay

I have one script finished and working on a few more projects. Thinking of hitting LA and seeing if I can come up with anything, though that seems like a long shot. I will figure it out eventually.

Inktip.com is a good website for selling screenplays. I get their newsletter every week and I’ve definitely noticed that more and more bigger budget companies are using their services. Their IMDB profile is pretty big, though primarily medium to low budget stuff so far produced.

I’m not a kid any more. It’s time to be more career-focused.

I guess being born into a world of pain and deception a person would be able to understand the pain that this life brings. Then again for some people life is to hard and unbearable. As a result some people decide to end the pain by killing themselves. There are many people who decide to shut the world out as well. As family, friends, and the people who support them in life I believe maybe sometimes a person has the right to shut the world out. Maybe the world is a place that people need to get a way from. Many people believe the world is reasonable for them and that the world is obligated to support them in life. Maybe they are right but many people believe that the people that think the world owes them something must be crazy and out of their minds. As a result they decide to do a way with the body of people that only need help in a strong subconscious way. Maybe sometime the people who believe in doing away with the body of people, who only need help. Maybe they are right for what they believe in because some of our peoples ways are crazy. Some people become crazy on anything that other people can’t understand.

My wife and I wrote our first screenplay together and then she wrote one herself. I currently am researching a topic right now and have 4 other screenplays planned. We entered the jointly written one in a contest and will probably put it in another.

Why is it so hard for me to write an entry about this goal? Maybe because I’m so far from getting this done that writing an entry means I have to admit that I am so far from getting this done.

My goal for this summer was to write a screnplay. A GOOD screenplay. I’d already written 2 (and a half) so I started my third at the end of May. I just finished it last week and I’m really excited about it! It turned out a lot better than I thought it would.

I’ve got my query letter written, my logline refined, and a list of agencies to send the query letter to. The only problem is that I’m sixteen… I mean, I guess that would be a problem. I don’t really know. My hope is that if I’m as professional as possible, people will take me seriously. Wish me luck!

I have been writing scripts for about a decade, on and off. I’ve had several shot, including a feature with paid cast and crew (admittedly, low budget). However, I want to write a screenplay that’s good enough to sell to someone.

I’m still learning about the business. I feel like I have a really great idea for a movie, but that isn’t enough! The business is really tough to break into. I just joined a free community for screenplay writers and I’m starting to learn about everything I need to sell my script!!
