How to live in seattle
It made me
miss the east coast
 "I don't recommend living here for most in reality and would've taken San Fran were the cost not so prohibitive there. If I could still drive, I'd stay on the east coast."
How I did it: Worked to get my career entirely transferred to a from-home job and researched... I visited for 16 weeks across 2.5 years, all seasons, 5 weeks, 3 weeks, 3 weeks, 2 weeks, and another 2 weeks... the 5 weeks through winter, the hardest season to endure--and I dealt with 70mph windstorms... I still moved here, though. Lessons & tips: The economy in Seattle is awful, but NEGOTIATE where you live--that's a huge expense right there... also be aware this "green" image is only 10% true... stick to spots like Town and Country markets and Ken's and the farmer's market or get the auto-delivery deal where fresh produce (local) comes to you... if you can handle that... very little fish is local here, so be aware that you'll have sole, halibut, a bit of expensive salmon, and not much else--tiny q-tip-tip sized shrimp if that counts, along with costly dungeness crab that isn't very flavorful... get creative. You kinda have to. Most produce here is exported :/ Sad but true... which is why you can't do the Safeways and the QFCs if you have a moral compass built in. Resources: redfin for real estate... yelp omg yelp... priceless yelp... also dibspace for work barter trades... and CRAIGSLIST is huge in Seattle... but also scammed a lot so be careful always... |

I just got back from a trip to Seattle and I absolutely loved it! Its such a beautiful city and I felt so at home there! I definitely have to live there =]

I made my decision to relocate to Seattle after spending my second summer in New York. I’ll take nine months of Seattle’s neverending gray for that brief ray of sunshine in the summer compared with the ten weeks of New York City’s humidity and heat and smells and thrills and crowds and storms and yes, I’ll even give up NYC’s neverending nightlife.
I fell in love with Seattle. Georgetown Rocks. I’ll be there by mid-August.
I have fallen in love with Seattle. So much culture, restaurants, shopping, beauty, and gorgeous weather! I am currently in Kansas City and I’m dying to get away from the hot humid summers and brutal winters. I have always liked rain so the Seattle weather does not bother me. I am now trying to convince myself to quit my job, sell my house, and move to Seattle but I’m scared. I’m young, 27, so I think I should be taking risks now rather than when I’m older and it’s too late. We’ll see!
Don’t let the title fool you, those are not the reasons why I want to live in Seattle. I don’t have much of a reason in doing so. I just know that were I want to go.
I moved to Seattle two years ago from Phoenix, AZ….the best thing I ever did!
If you can take the traffic/parking situation in stride, you’ll love it here….
