So now every night that I have the opportunity, I set the microwave timer for 20 minutes when I come home from work to commence some pure, uninterrupted Kitty Time. They are still a couple of assholes intent on destroying everything in my apartment but at least I know they are happier!

Still going okay with this one, in the sense that I had a little petting session with my kitty today. 10-15 minutes of non-stop petting, and I’m sure she wouldn’t have minded if I had kept going. Cats and their itchy heads!
This one is going okay, though I could do better. At least two days in a row, I did stop and pet/play with my cat. It was nice… she appreciated it, purring away. It just takes a certain amount of effort to stop whatever I’m doing and focus on her. It always feels like there’s something else I need to do. And it doesn’t help that she won’t just jump up on me and make it easy; I usually have to hunt her down and force her to sit still. I feel like if she’s the one who wants to be pet, I shouldn’t be the one having to make all the effort. But cat logic doesn’t work that way. :)
Anyway, I put this as one of my goals because I do feel bad about the fact that she seems to constantly be in need of attention, and I’m not really taking time out to give it to her. If you’re going to have a pet, you should make the effort to give him/her the attention she/he wants.
when i first made this goal, i thought i had a little girl kitty, but now i found out that it’s a boy… yeah, don’t joke, i know i should have seen the obvious signs, but give me credit, he has small “ahems”... but i’m still gonna time time out of each day to play with him… he’s still my baby, and i love him, even if he is a nasty boy…
i gotta change his name from mallory to homer!
