Time to send out poetry once more, once more, and keep trying  — 6 months ago

Worth doing!

I have a series I’m doing and then some others. I’ll send some to Poetry, and also to The Chicago Review, whose autumn issue I’m reading now. The piece on Hart Crane’s The Tower is very good.

hiden in the cloud of love  — 6 months ago

how can a girl so beautiful so colorful so loving let a black and gray cloud hide her in a endless darkness as she as she is left to make it to the light she can see smell understand the happyness of the light but her love for the gray and black keeps her away from the light she cant touch it her love keeps her in her clouds of gray and black but she is strong she can make it through the clouds and find true love that will let her do great things she will rise over the clouds and find happyness in the light she will be happy and find true love without the gray and black clouds holding her back from all the happy light

Through my door  — 7 months ago

She thrives on escaping her past regrets,
I suffer, for the wrongs that I didn’t do to her.
She runs frequently through my thoughts and dreams,
Wondering if she’s the reason for my neuroticism.
Constant running, Consistant result in sacrifice.
Yet I refuse to give in to her cynacism on relationships.
I keep going, praying for a moment of clarity,
Wondering if being the nice guy is what she wants.
She turns away, oblivious of what she has done to me,
Despising her, loathing her, hating her,
Walking out my door, where she entered through,
From where I stood, I tremble to the floor.
She doesn’t run from me, only walks slowly,
resembling sharp pains that reach your heart before it breaks.
The agonizing affliction that touches the core of your soul
It Harnesses deep inside, rotting the center.
She has no remorse with her psuedo-difficult choice,
Her feelings, focused on replacing belief with thought.
My Heart will eternally keep hold of her,
Through my door and out of my life forever.

träumerei  — 9 months ago

nachts wenn der mond die erde speist
des menschen körper, seele, geist
mit licht und liebe flutet
die welt sich in vergesstheit wiegt
wenn unter ihr die sonne liegt
die abends noch geblutet

hunderttausend goldne sterne
winken mir aus weiter ferne
und funkeln mir entgegen
ich zähle noch ein letztes mal
die unendlich große zahl
und geh zum schlaf mich legen

der mond indes im weißen kleid
zieht über alle felder weit
und städte auch und seen
er wünscht uns eine gute nacht
hat uns die träume mitgebracht
und bewacht das geschehn

und ich verliere mich wieder
höre längst verklungne lieder
ich genieße jede nacht
jeden traum mit dir zu teilen
hier gemeinsam zu verweilen
bis der nächste tag erwacht…

(i’ve almost forgotten, that i already published one, about two years ago. at least that’s what they told me, i didn’t have enough money to buy the book where it was in, but i think they did it. so that’s my poem (it’s in german, i’ll try to translate if possible))

fun!  — 11 months ago

Worth doing!

its fun writing poetry, and you develop a great sense of accomplishment when you get it published. But don’t think that’s the only way your poem will get read! I’ve only published-published one poem, and that was in 2nd grade ;) (yes, i’ve been writing for awhile lol). But i find that sometimes, you just got to do ur own sort of distribution. Let people you know read your works, write poems for people (holidays, eulogies), write what’s on ur mind. no matter if you get published or not, your work is special. and at least one person you give it to will love it. don’t be afraid to share it by your own means :) that is truly the greatest accomplishment.
