Write down memorable quotes from the books I read

You can go through life and make new friends every year – every month practically – but there was never any substitute for those friendships of childhood that survive into adult years. Those are the ones in which we are bound to one another with hoops of steel.

The first book I ever started taking down quotes from was The Bell Jar my freshman year of high school. I loved the book so much I couldn’t imagine forgetting some of the profound things Sylvia Plath wrote. Now I seem to do it to every book I read.

Every now and then I come across sentences, thoughts, extracts that really stand out and make me think, puzzle me or just fascinate me. The one that I want to start my collection of quotes with is the following:
Lies are always double:what you say coexists with what you didn’t say but might have said. This is great to do, as you can go back through and reread them if you’re feeling out of it or blue. I’m going to be putting mine in a folder for some of my classes to read, as I think they need to see reading is not all bad! :)
