Wow, so I’ve been living in my own apartment in Arlington now for about three months. It’s nice. I’m able to make payments on time, basically. I like having my own personal space but I’m ready to fill it with things. I still don’t have curtains and I want a futon. I find it funny that my goal used to be “being on my own” and now that I am, I don’t feel accomplished. I want more.

My place...at least for a while 12 months ago

I moved in with a girl from work and life is good there! It’s in the city, literally the farthest place from my apartment is like thirty minutes. I love being close to everything! Plus, I never have to check in with anyone, and I can have people over, and everything. Yay! Independence!

My own place? 15 months ago

I work with a couple of girls who are roommates. One of them is thinking of moving in with her significant other, so that leaves the other one without a roommate. Ta-da! Then I appear, to save the day!
Her apartment is right down the street from where I work, within walking distance of a lot of clubs, restaurants, stores, and other fun stuff, and it’s in the same neighborhood that a lot of my other friends already live in.
I really hope I get this apartment. It would be great to have a roommate and not have to go home to an empty place every day, and wake up to an empty place. I’ll have someone to talk with and listen to and someone’s stuff to trip over!
This could be it! My first apartment!

I’ve been doing more and more independently. Parts of it are great – making my own schedule, doing what i really want to do the way I want to do it, etc. But some parts suck. Like having to pay for it all, prioritizing my time, etc. Overall, I like being independent.

I’ve been travelling more independently – went a cruise earlier this month without my parents there. I also have been driving around Dallas a lot lately, which gives me a good feeling of freedom. I’ve got a friend coming to visit me from New Jersey soon, which is all me and him. All our plans, all our schedules, etc. The thought of the approaching fall, with thoughts of being on my own at college, possibly in a faraway state, is exciting.

    Three cheers for growing up!

I moved out of my parents house and now I’m more independent! It’s LOVELY.

    A taste.... 3 years ago

My parents went out of town for a week and it was good for me. My sister and I prepared all our own food whenever, however we wanted. I did my laundry whenever, however I wanted. Etc. It was like YAY I can do stuff!

Most people spend their whole lives searching for happiness. Not me. Happiness isn’t good enough for me. I demand euphoria!
