DRAG RACE!!!

Not worth it when you total your car…

a couple weeks ago i went DRIFTING with some kind of-not really friends of mine, but it was so much fun! and it was late and night and we had the music blaring! ah, it was just great! fun, fun times…

I baught a 95 sonoma with a 350/700r4 setup for $500. Before you say its a piece of shit, let me explain. I originally paid $2250 for the truck , but on the trip home the drag link almost broke while driving over the cape fear memorial bridge, the truck overheated, and the trans. slipped. I called the guy when I got to my shop and told him to come and get the truck and that I was placing a stop payment on the check I had written. He said ok and told me hed come get it the next day. Well I got kind of curious, and before I went home I looked the truck over. I found the drag link problem and figured that thet could be fixed cheap, I got to looking at the cooling fan and noticed that it was hardly moving any air (thats why it over heated) and I looked at the TV cable and say that it had been adjusted way to loose. So when he came to get the truck i made the offer of $500 and he took it. So far i have about what I was originaly going to pay in it and a bad ass drag truck/ daily driver in the making.

I said it’s not worth it because it’s not worth it enough to ever do it again. I went (several times) with my brother to the Famoso dragstrip to race our cars (we both had ‘68 Firebirds). It was fun- learned how to drive with both feet and react properly to the lights. But not my thing long term… glad to be able to say I did it though.

My uncle use to be a drag racer… ever since he got his license hes always wanted to go fast no doubt about it… well that what his life ended up being all about. it was the one thing that he truely loved to do… but 4 years about he passed away doing the one thing he loved to do, i dont like to think that this was a bad thing, but havent even been about to listen to people talk about racing since, but not all i want to do is see the joy that he got out of it. this weekend im going to the drag strip and maybe in a couple weeks ill race my car!

Building the drag car, building, building, building, takes so long to build. Should finish building the car middle or end of 2006 then i can GO DRAG RACING

We just need the car for this. Easier said than done. :(
