I think I mistakenly replaced desire with ignorance (to me, trying not to care also meant not analyzing things) but that only worked for a short time. I think I’ve got the desire & ignorance part worked out a little better now, but now I think the amount of ill will I harbor has increased. Probably because I’m bitter because I stopped desiring, i.e, trying to make something better of my life. Maybe a combo of the two options you mention might work. Oh never mind just lower your standards.
