How I did it: I just didn't stop cold turkey. First I tried just to quit swearing at work and once I completed that, I tried to quit swearing around my friends. After I finally felt that I completed that I tried to quit swearing at home which proved to be much more challenging than the other 2. My boyfriend has the mouth of a sailor so it was really hard to keep up with this goal, but once I remembered why I was even trying to complete this goal it got a whole lot easier! I just kept myself focused. Lessons & tips: Don't quit cold turkey. It's hard! And don't be too hard on yourself when you slip up...it happens to the best of us (= Resources: My Bible. Remembering that God wouldn't want those words coming out of my mouth *really* kept me on track. |

How I did it: i know everyone says this but make a swear box and keep to it... eventually you will run out of money so you have to stop... tell someone else about your goal because sometimes its very hard to notice that your swearing. every week or so (depending on how much you spend) treat yourself with the money in your swear box... it really makes you feel like your achieving something when you can spend the money. I think I’m very slowly getting better at this one…I still swear a bit at home (my boyfriend swears) so it’s a little harder to stay on track there, but at work and everywhere else I’m doing awesome (=

It feels like this one is never going to get any easier. I haven’t really completely stopped swearing yet, but definitely more aware of what I’m saying. Like before I swear, I think about it, but still do it anyways…I dunno why. This last week I’m going to try really hard and work on it…if I don’t feel like I completed this goal I will still give the $100 to charity, but I’m going to put this goal back up and still try to complete it.
They say it takes 21 days to break an old habit and start a new one…maybe thats all I need (=

when you have a boyfriend that swears. It might not sound like a lot but when you’re a poor starving university student, $100 is A LOT of money haha so hopefully I can get through this one!

How on earth will I ever stop?! My favorite word in the world is ‘fck’. It just expresses the intensity of any emotion to the n’th degree like no other word on the planet. However, as a mother…to a 2 yr old daughter, I know things have to change asap! I try so hard everyday to be aware of her being in the room and listening (and emulating everything I do and say) and try not to curse, but when I get stressed, aggitated or annoyed with something, it’s the first thing to fly out of my mouth. I hate to admit this, but she’s now picked it up too (the other day she said ‘mommy, give me some fcking mushrooms!) LOL! I was stunned (and laughing so hard inside) but I know this is serious now. Please help!!
