i was debating whether to put this in the give section or the share my knowledge section, and i decided the give, because i wasn’t really TEACHING but more so giving advice.
today a female friend talked to me and said she broke up with her boyfriend. she felt like a bitch for breaking his heart and that she didn’t know what she wanted to do with her life and was all around feeling really sad. without going into details i gave her a lot of comments and advice about her situation and i believe that i made just that much difference in her happiness, which i am glad for.
later today, my best friend (john, who is having a shit load of problems with a girl he really likes but is taken) told me that the girl had started cutting again today. we knew this was really bad news. i have known a lot of cutters and let me say, it is an extremely popular act, at least where i live. at any rate i knew a lot of info about cutting and a few tips on how to stop. i shared this information with him in hopes that he would pass it on to her. honestly i did it for him, not her. i hope that she really appreciates the tips that he gives her from me, and that she does stop. today she confessed that he was her best friend, which is really big. i hope that whatever happens it works out well for john, and i just want him to be happy. anyway, i am proud of today for those things.

My sister and her husband have fallen on some hard times unexpectedly. He is a truck driver and lost his license, effectively putting him out of work. She is a teacher on reduced materinity leave income.
They called to ask to borrow some money, a significant amount. The answer, of course, will be yes. I am blessed to be in the position to do this. But, I also have to find a way to talk to her about her savings plan. Unfortunately, this is about the 3rd or 4th time she has had to borrow money from family. If she doesn’t plan effectively, there may be a time when others are unable to help, and I would hate to see her in that position.

Have been meaning to get around to donating money to Emergency (Italian organisation that sets up hospitals in war zones) and just haven’t done the bank transfer yet.

i’m doing it. as much as possible. i don’t want to do it out of guilt or obligation—just because it’s fun, right, good. yipee!

I had received some monkey stuff in a little envelope and the only item in the package I really like is the pad of paper. I have the stamp, eraser and clip on my desk – it has sat there for long while. I am going to gather it all up and take it into work and give it to a student who loves monkies.

and I put the pin and watch in the bag and decided to give it to a friend from school. I will bring it to the office tomorrow for her to get when I next see her.
GIVER
UPDATE: I’m not sure she liked it? I think she did but the pressure might have been a bit too much? I think she lost the cat pin and she felt bad but I told her that the pin wanted to be somewhere else and that there is a reason for everything. I know this as a fact! :)
She found the PIN!
