Loved it! The beginning is sooooo slow and takes forever to get through it seems, but once you get her to the University…it flies! And I’m not just saying that because she’s a witch…or is she?
If you get a chance to see Wicked-The Musical, you must. It completes the book and gives you tingles!

the end seemed a little rushed to me but Since we already know what happens its understandable. A very good read!

Sadly, not time... 2 years ago

I started to read this book at the beginning of this school year, but school and college app stuff came on strong and I no longer had time. I get through a cpouple chapters, but no further.

Hopefully I ‘ll fix this before April…that’s when my mom is taling me to see the show!

I’m terribly excited, but I want to read the book first.

An excellent book. Gregory Maguire is an absolute genius, and Elphaba is one of the best characters I have come across yet. Love it.

Really good book! surprisingly thought provoking with themes like: prejudices, self identity and desire. It is a very good book that will change the way you think of the wizard of oz forever.

i LOVED this book..i couldn’t put it down

maguire tells an AMAZING story off of a story that is an american staple, really

it’s not what you expect…funny, vicious, sad, uplifting at times…very very political as well

    a “must-read”

What a book!! 3 years ago

It’s written like a fairytale, but is definitely not for kids :-) I’ve only read a few chapters, but I’m fascinated by it. A Los Angeles Times critic called it “a fascinating feat of wordcraft” – I’d have to agree. So many times I find myself stopping just to admire how someone can put words together like this – ‘wordcraft’ is a great way to describe it.
