late on the update. I spent november writing, not doing much on the internet. And I spent december doing Christmas and then recovering from Christmas. But I hit my word count goal in the last couple of days of November. Far from my usual fast paced writing where I was writing twice as much as I needed, I averaged the minimum every day. Never got ahead. I write fast, but I had no time, so didn’t write much. Still won. I have to remember that sometimes slow and steady really does win the race. 16 months ago

And now, that bottle of merlot I bought just to celebrate… 18 months ago

I caught up two days ago. And then my sister and her family visited for Thanksgiving, and I’m behind again by about… two days. Aaaand I’ve hit a last-minute creative block and the scenes have gotten themselves twisted into a tangled mess of incoherence. sigh
My last 15,000 words aren’t going to make much sense. But I WILL WRITE THEM. And I will get my winner’s badge, dammit. 18 months ago

After maintaining a 1k lead most of the time, I got distracted by another project for a few days and I’m like 6k behind now. I can probably clear 2k of that before midnight, but I’ve got a REAL bad case of the I Don’t Wannas.

Hit the ground running, got ahead, then accidentally took a day off. I was far enough ahead that I’ve yet to get behind, but I’ve crested 10K and am confident I’ll be able to pull farther ahead of target over the next day or two.
Also, my protagonist is turning out to be a real asshole. Wasn’t expecting that, but he’s really fun to write this way. 18 months ago

Ended day one with 2300 (just a bit over midnight).
Good start if I may say so myself.
Now I just need to figure out what the hell I’ll be writing for the rest of the month. Oo 19 months ago

And it feels really natural, more like I’m reading the story than writing it. Can’t wait to see what happens next.
I’m quiquiq over on the home planet and I’m writing a murder mystery/heist novel. I’m keeping it on the fluffy side so I don’t burn myself out trying to be profound, heh.
Good luck everyone! 19 months ago

I was never planning to write at midnight. I had halloween, kids, and a virus that puts me to bed early (for the last two weeks) so I went to bed at 10 and woke up at 7.
I still have a girl at home. She goes to preschool at noon, but I did manage about a half hour of writing and a half hour of prep. I never got all my prepwork done before nano, but that’s ok. I have faith in my writing speed and my word count.
I will have 3 hours of no kids today, so I intend to write for the entire time, and hopefully crack 5k. Wouldn’t that be nice? 5 whole K. If not, I’ll definitely get to 2k.
I am disgruntled by my measly 876 word count that I put in to the stats counter at nanowrimo.com, so I am gearing up to add in the super high count by the time my daughter comes home at 3. Wish me luck. I think I should take some advil now to relieve this viral headache (it’s been 2 weeks of that, too.) 19 months ago

Was off to a pretty good start last night: 1327 words!
If I keep it up like this, with a littttle extra, I’ll get that 50k for sure! But that’s what we all think at 1 November…. :P 19 months ago

Signed up again. And I’m completely fine with participating without finishing, if that’s what happens :) 19 months ago

Tick tock.
This will be my… I’m pretty sure we’re at 6th time. I am determined not only to win this nano, but to write a good story. My characters deserve it. I deserve it. So that means give myself the room to write, the time to write, the attention to write.
And don’t get the flu again. 19 months ago

Woo-hoo, its Nano time
This will be my 5th year
I have won only once
Does this make me feel small, bad, lesser-than ?
Well, of course…why else does one feel compelled to write
But, heck its good frantic fun while it lasts
Good luck to you 19 months ago
