Starting with Saturday. I’ve made some Friday night habits that I’ve got to break slowly, but I think I can commit to Saturday from sunup to sundown for now.

    We shall see.

SO in this new version of the sabbath, I’m going to try to incorporate both Saturday and Sunday. I’ve struggled with the idea of a day of rest and a day of celebration (i.e. fun and parties). So saturday is my “do things I like” day. That could be anything from working on projects (career or non-career related) or a hearty party, watching movies, going to shows, intense stuff I can’t get to during the week. And then Sunday is my hands-off God day. And I think it might get ridiculous. I’m thinking no media of any sort, vegetarian, pre-prepared food, scripture, no alcohol, and only calming relaxing activities. Anything that might get me worked up should be avoided.

I don’t mean to sound crazy or fundamentalist, it’s just that I think it would be alright to begin the week from a sort of beginning, that on Monday, I will appreciate all of the things that I denied myself the day before. Also that I will go into itvery oriented and thoughtful. Plus everything else that comes with absolutely stopping. I don’t think I could describe it fully .

That place saves my life. I went there for a month and actually made it, working 6 days and resting one. Incredible. Felt like I didn’t even recognize myself. It was indicitave that my existence prior to that journey was more broken than it ought to be.

i read his 43 things and this one stood out to me especialy this part

    “This has a dual meaning:
    1) I must rest and do no work once every seven days.

    2) I must work towards my purpose all other six days.”

    This has a dual meaning:
    1) I must rest and do no work once every seven days.

    2) I must work towards my purpose all other six days.

So it’s supposed to set up a balance. Right now, this is manifest in my homework/class schedule, that I do hw 7 hours a day but only for 6 days a week.
