I hope by the end of this month to send out another one of my message in a bottle projects.
I’ll post again soon on this.
How I did it: I created a unique work of art and wound it around a rod like a scroll and sealed it in a bottle with wax and my signet ring (that I made here) and labeled it with it's goal. Then I handed it off to another person who was to hand it off until it gets where it is going. Then they open it and share it with all the others who watch for it on the message board.
Lessons & tips: It's just as likely to disappear as generate a group of talkers on the board, so send more then one and accept the idea that some of the past holders will just lurk and some of the bottles may never make it.

I’m so excited I could dance, that is if I could dance.
Yay. I was getting kinda down that this project might not go so well but there is hope.

it left my hands this weekend, and now it is to wait.
It was sort of funny to let it go, there was that momentary blip of anxiety of letting my part in the project end but I did it. That’s what it was created for after all.
Even if it doesn’t get far or anything I still think it was a good idea that has three more tries left in it based on my original outline. Three more bottles await.

Friday afternoon the message will be released, and we can watch the project as it commences.

I am going to spend some time over the next few days doing the first of four. Hopefully I will have it completed and on it’s way by the next weekend. Once one of them is done I will mark this as completed even though three more bottles will be needed for the first round. I’m not as excited by this as I thought I’d be but maybe that will change once I get it going.
Right now it just seems one more responsability to take care of. That is really the wrong attitude for this though.
I heard about the people who sent it out, then got a message back. I would love to do that by the end of the summer and see what happens!

I’ve actually done much of what I need to do to get started and planned out the sending part. I’m going to start a group online to get the bottle people together. But the real trick is what the heck do I put in them.
As a artist and crafter, I’m thinking about one form of art/craft per bottle. A poem, a painting, a piece of music and… I don’t quite know what to do for the last one. I’d like it to be something that can be wrapped about the dowel and placed in the skinny bottle.
So I’m wondering if I’m needlessly complicating things. But hopefully If I work on the other three first the fourth will come in it’s own time.

I have a plan, a mysterious and secret plan that will have my bottle travel across a sea without littering, and not being aimlessly left in our environment.
It’s only secret right now because it’s not been started yet. But I’ll let you all know when I have. Right now, I have four bottles (decrative vinigar bottles) that I bought. I’m going to write each and wrap it scroll style around a thin dowel put it in the bottle, stopper it and seal it. then on it’s way.
I think I’ll start an e-mail to get any reply in or something.

I’m just not as into the throwing a bottle into the sea. I doubt it goes anywhere and just amounts to pollution for me. so maybe I could find a way to send it out or have a message drift through the sea of humanity until it finds someone.
