I really like doing this! It’s hard, a lot harder than it looks, but there’s something neat about having a picture that conveys a secret word that most people don’t know.

This one is appreciation. One of my favorite words. I appreciate all of you!!!

Shodo is the Art of Calligraphy in Japan, and it’s much harder than you’d think! Here are some pictures. They look worse than in real life, but it’s real hard!

    all ready... 2 years ago

Picked up a pack of rice paper sheets (to practice on before I spring for the scroll), a bottle of sumi ink (was going to buy the ink stone, but again, I’m practicing first), and a set of nice bamboo brushes in three sizes.

All I need now is some inspiration and a Hanko (which will come later, I’m sure). XD

    summer break 3 years ago

Next lessons since the end of August :D

Till then have to complete and organize my works and materials from previos lessons (now they’re all on the wardrobe in old newspapers :/)
Also have to improve in shodou and practise some at home. That’s lot of fun, makes me relaxed but my work is not so very beatiful (as I would say it in Japanese ;) )

I haven’t been able to locate any place or person who teaches it… I’ll keep looking.

... well, not really, but it should be, when you’re studying Japanese :)
