Does the 5-mile hike in White Sands count? It was 110, took 4 hours, and was completely exhilarating.

Deserts are amazingly beautiful, I spent a few days in a desert in Namibia and it was really incredible how fast it got hot in the morning. We walked up a sand dune to watch the sunrise and by the time we walked down about 45 minutes after sunrise, it was so hot that we were drenched in sweat.
