Moving my room around 9 months ago

I want to move my bedroom around the best way to make it fit and look nice. I share my bedroom with my two daughters and I have a bunk bed for them a queen size for me and a book shelf and two dressers and a toybox. I don’t know the size of the room. what is my best option.

its a mess 10 months ago

wardrobe, drawers, books, handbags, makeup, hairstylers….....everywhere

i suck at this 20 months ago

i need to organize my bedroom along with the rest of the house but i am a pack rat and my mind is apparently as cluttered as the house because i cant begin to figure out what to do with everything.

everything everywhere 21 months ago

I would like to re-arrange and organise my room, i dont like the way its set out, i have no storage space and i cant feel comfortable in there anymore, instead of being a sancuary and comfortable place in my home, its just become a place to dump things. i need to get some storage solutions and start decorating, also re-arrange my furniture, and buy a new bed.

...in light of my imminent move but I’m keeping the categorisation for my packing. Which I need to start on now.

Absnasm gave me her rules for keeping a room tidy, which were, if I recall:

  1. Give everything its own place
  2. When you’re finished with something, put it back
  3. When you leave the room, take something that doesn’t belong there with you

Actually, those rules might be wrong. Anyway, in order to fulfil the first point, I’ve started putting my mountains of junk into categories, so that there will be drawers for similar items and I don’t have to look in a billion different places when I need something.

So far I’ve got:

  • Archives – paperwork I need to keep hold of
  • Scrapbook – sentimental things that are 2D
  • Tools – in the widest definition
  • Resources – consumables with two subcategories: 2D and 3D
  • Ornaments – anything with no intrinsic function

I don’t know if that’s the best way to organise everything, but I’ll give it a go.

Quite tidy now. It was starting to look like an earthquake zone for a while there. My main problem now is the stacks and stacks of books that I have nowhere to put. I have plans for these though.

What I need to do next:

1. Move my books somewhere
2. Wash my windows
3. Clean out my wardrobe
4. Clear out all the junk in my drawers

It might be a good idea for me to make a schedule for keeping on top of all the things I need to do around the flat.

Tidied up a little today 3 years ago

Looks better already. Tomorrow I might tackle all the shit under my desk. And figure out what I want to do with my duff printer.
