How to clean my carpet by mrsrad

"Looks like new . . and I'm so relieved"

How I did it: Called one carpet cleaning service and they were booked for the week.  Then called the guy that we used to use and he was available.  Set up a time, picked up all of the loose stuff and had him come in this morning to clean our upstairs carpet, two area rugs and our dining chairs. Wrote the check and sent them home.

Lessons & tips: Its easier to have someone come in and do it rather than doing it yourself.  They have more powerful equipment.  For me its easier to write a check then do the backbreaking work.

    When I bought my apartment it had (and still has) cream carpet everywhere. Not very practicle in a rainey mucky country. So I need to clean it all the time. I’m going to do one big massive clean, and when money becomes available I’m getting rid of the carpet. Im not sure what Im going to replace it with. Maybe tiles or a wood floor. I’ll just have to wait and see.

    The carpet cleaning guy was here this morning and cleaned our carpet upstairs, two area rugs, my chair and our dining chairs. Everything looks great! It had been two years since we had it done. Our 20 year old carpet looks almost new!

    We are getting new carpet downstairs but the upstairs carpet really needs a good cleaning. I’ve left this on his plate for weeks and it hasn’t yet been accomplished.

    i bought rugs to help keep the crpet clean but they are made out of the weirdest material and its just shed all over my carpet!! :( it needs a serious hoover. but i have no energy to do it!!

    hate my carpet. so… replace with tile? wood? stone? sawdust? i have an old house (no cool wood floor hiding under the carpet)with nasty old carpet, a 16 year old dog who occasionally has accidents (i also have 2 other dogs)...other contributing factors are a teenage boy + friends and that i’m an artist who paints anywhere and spills stuff. we live in the south, so warmpth isn’t an issue… can’t replace it so must clean it..
