How I did it: I wouldn't say I actually found a religion to fit my beliefs. It was more that I realized that being a part of an organized religion is not necessary. I believe what I believe, and that's all that really matters. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I chose to believe in something that made me feel connected to the world. I let go of my fears and started feeling the connection I was meant to have, mind body and soul intact. I now know where my purpose is, and I am just going with the flow of things. it makes me feel protected and also more aware of my surroundings. :) Read how I did it…

I’m looking for a church of place of worship that have very open beliefs and is welcoming to new people
i think so many different things are possible, its kind of hard to limit it down to one religion. For instance, i believe reincarnation and “reaching elightenment” is possible, yet i don’t believe in any kind of heaven/hell. and when it comes to a “creator”, i just can’t be sure whether one exists or not; so i’m 50/50 on that.
does anyone know of a religion that closely fits my beliefs?I don’t consider myself religious. In fact I doubt that I will FIND a religion that fits my believes so this is more about INVENTING a religion that fits my believes.
However, to start this journey I’m going to explore Buddhism by reading something by the Dalai Lama. All suggestions for further reading are welcomed :)

this may not happen. What’re the chances I’ll find one religion that perfectly captures all of my beliefs?

“True religion is real living; living with all one’s soul, with all one’s goodness and righteousness.”

I am not obligated to have a specific religion. I don’t want to follow a certain path and worship a God that has and will been other peoples interpretations – past, present and future. I am happy to take traditions and beliefs from other cultures and religions and adapt that to what makes me feel at one with the universe and everything that has ever been and ever will be. My God is my God and my religion shall be my own.
i pretty much just believe that there is a higher power out there that had to do w sum part of our creation. i also believe in evolution. im also extremely liberal [bisexual] and open minded. i dont kno wut religion fits my beliefs and views.

I believe in a lot of things.. but as I look into different religions there is always something there that doesn’t pertain to me.

I’ve found some different religions that work for me such as the Latter Day Saints and some Buddism. I’m considering joining a masonic lodge as well down the road.
I also try to be open to other religions and incorporate some of their beliefs if I see truth in it. I definitely vibe with the non-violent “soul or truth” force that Gandhi and MLK Jr. lived and practiced. Overthrowing an oppressive British government without killing people was an amazing feat.
But to each their own, forceful religions and people I want nothing to do with and I find the latest round of Christians vs. Persians to be especially irritating.

“How do I find the religion that is right for me? Do I take a test? If there is a test, where is a good place to take it?”
