write a kids book

My favorite thing as a kid (well OK, pretty much as an adult as well) is reading. I’d love to write a book that kids love that lets them experience being something else for just a while. I remember hearing an interview with Daniel Pinkwater (one of my favorite authors) where he said that adult authors never get fanmail that says. “I’ve read your book 83 times and still read it twice a week. I sleep with it under my pillow.” Now that’s cool!

I wrote a kids book on manners.
It’s sitting in my room right now, i’m not sure what i should do with it. It’s pretty cute.

I’m in the process on writing a book right now called Orly Learns his Manners. It seems like it will be okay. But nothing too good either. I have to remember that i’m aiming towards 5-6 year olds. I need to remember that “aweful” is still a big word to them.
