Lately, I’ve been spending a lot of money ($35-45 per month) on my cell phone prepayment cards… usually it should be $10-15 a month in my country…
But i can’t go to bed without talking to my girlfriend 1.5 or 2 hrs on the phone…
Boomer Anne knows lifes is good
When I was much younger, I use to say money dosent really matter to me. I just want to find happiness.
A totally 60’s mentality.
Somewhere along the path of life I grew up to realize that money is so important.
So, I started looking for promotions and a better salary to grow our quality of life.
I need to remember that I didn’t do all that for nothing. Now that I don’t have a job and my husband is the only one working,I need to be more frugal and go back to to my old idea of I don’t need all that stuff, I just want to keep my happiness.
So it wasn’t a big deal but I almost bought T-shirt online the other day. It would have only been about $25.00 with shipping but the fact is I DON’T NEED ANYMORE T-SHIRTS! (and anyway…those kinds of purchases add up). It felt good to catch myself shopping on impulse and smackin’ it down.
okay I have an issue with spending….Well I’m going to start a new job and I need to be a good stewart over this money GOd has blessed me with because I know, I’ll be financially rich soon and I need to get it together. LIve on a budget and stick to it for real. I swipe that ATM so often and mis-calculate in my head and then I’m all messed up. It doesn’t help that I get paid once a month so if I over spend in the beginning of the month, I’m broke the next 4 weeks. I’m tired of always worrring about how I’m gone put gas in my car and eat. Thats for the birds..I need to get it together. Its not like I even shop, because I do that so rarely. But in 2008 I will live on a budget and become faithful to it. I also need to be faithful in my offering…paying my tithes are okay but offering I need step it up. NO more living pay check to pay check like my parents did. I need to get it together in 2008
I’ve come a long way from my 20’s being $25K in debt and a bad credit score to having an excellent credit score, respectable savings and an 401K but I can do more. This year I’ll scale back on those little purchases like coffee drinks and lunches as well as reducing the number of medium ticket price luxuries I’ve endulged in the past few years. Should save me a few duckets.
Getting rid of my checking account has really helped. I no longer have over draft charges and it’s much easier to keep in track with my money and how much I can spend on myself.
okay…i’ve always been terrible with this.
I buy one thing…and then i buy another..i don’t pace myself..and i just keep buying things whenever i remember that i “need” them.
Soooo..
i’ve broken it down..
i have $60 dollars to spend a week
$30 – foodshopping / groceries
$20 – extra spending money…for whatever
$10 – laundry and other “necessities”
and ofcourse there are few exceptions..
like the 10dollar bus pass at the beginning of the month..
it would either be an extra 10 bucks..or if i can manage it…i’ll take that 10 out of the “spending” money i don’t really need…
yay for spending money wisely!
=D
i’m doing rather good this week too..
I’m wondering if i should use the last 10 dollars i have of “personal” money…on accessories for a show this weekend..
or save it for my buspass?
i could borrow accessories from others..but not so sure how it’ll turn out..and definitely don’t wanna go half-ass on this costume! it’s gonna be a pretty big show!
ok well…tis all for now.
=D
