make a dress

I just want to give myself a bit more time, and the whole YOU HAVE THIS MUCH TIME TO COMPLETE THIS GOAL, really bothers me. It’ll be added to my list again, eventually. (:

I really want to make a dress and I’ve not made one in ages.
Infact I’ve not worn a dress in ages. I love makeing clothes and I know have a reason to make a dress.
It’s my friends birthday coming up and we’ve decided to all wear dresses so instead of buying one (since I have no money hehe) I’ll make one.
It’ll give it a personal touch too.
I have loads of stuff lying around that I could use so it should be quite easy. I know just need ideas.

Haven’t made a dress yet. I did refit my bridesmaid dress and that was a lot of work. But its perfect now! Its strapless but it stays up perfect. On to the next task: Make a dress. Well actually I’m going to sew a duvet cover first. LOL I keep putting this goal off.

The first dress I made was my wedding dress and it was the best decision! It fit great and was exactly what I wanted.

I have my main materials and a basic idea. It’s black at the top and the skirt part is dark shiny red and I’m going to lace it all up the front corset style. I’m not going with a pattern on this one but its pretty simple and I don’t have a deadline or anything. Wish me luck!

i need to learn to sew, i can knit and crochet and design. i understand fashion and some tailoring but as far as sewing. im gad awful. this is something that needs to be done

I made this dress for my sisters graduation from Johnson and Wales and the best part about it was trying something just a bit different from the pattern and having it work out! I inverted the the lines in the midsection and I love it.

Oh I keep forgetting I have this goal on here! Ah, I must do this :) I’d be very pleased with myself if I managed to successfully design and create my very own dress! Well I have clear ideas already of the material and shape I’d like – it’s just the actualy measuring and making etc that I have no idea about and will have trouble with :P

Is it a machine or a big white plastic decoration that collects dust? I haven’t touched the sewing machine for a while now and I just spent money on my garden so I’m not going to buy any fabric for at least a month. I need to save money. So this goal will wait.
