We stopped off to see my hub’s brother in Basingstoke. We suddenly realised that we were going to be almost passing by Stonehenge,so we made a little detour and there we where. Couldn’t bring ourselves to actually go into the site, they charge you for a start and you are not even allowed anywhere near the stones. At about 11am the car park was packed and there were hundreds of people milling about. We crossed the road and took in these magnificent stones from the other side of the fence. It was pretty mad watching huge numbers of people walking round the path which circles the stones, seperated by ropes and about 30 feet away from them!!! Anyway, the stones are fab, awesome in fact and full of mystery. It just seems a shame that they are used in this way to make English Heritage lots of dosh. :(

so we’ll be visiting some stone circles. Dartmoor is high on the priority list to vsit and also Glastonbury. You can’t go down south without visiting this place, climbing the Tor and chilling out in Chalice Well gardens… There are great book shops there too… :)

We spent the day in the Lake District, very beautiful. We visited two stone circles, Long Meg and her daughters again and a particular fave of mine, Castle Rigg. The views surrounding Castle Rigg are amazing, mountains and more mountains, it is a very atmospheric place… :)

Visiting stone circles is a deffinate must. If you can. I live in the U.S. now but I came from Britain a number of years ago. Visiting Avebury ring ,the Rollright stones and stonehenge, was amazing. I felt very strongly connected to my ancestoral roots around those places. It felt like the stones were buzzing. I spent a lot of my childhood around Glastonbury Tor and Callice well too. The whole land around is imbued with a majical energy. The Tor is great for picknicks too! I would just like the chance to go back to Britain to visit my freinds. Havent been back for 9 years. Wahh! Oh yes Cadburys Camelot is fantastic too. I think there are faries there. Seriously!

Only been to Arbor Low and the Nine Ladies in the Peak District and some standing stones on Anglesey.
This could take a while!
