quit my job and be an artist

If I could leave “the money trap”, I would leave my payroll job and become an artist, I would study art and delve in those deeply hidden parts of my brain for extraordinary artworks. My house would smell of turps and oil paints, canvases would dry outside in the garden amongst the rose bushes and lavender plants. My over coat would have many colour splashes on. I would have a twinkle in my eye and a skip in my step.
I wish, I wish, I wish…

...so farking terrified. Five more weeks before I get laid off from my job and I still haven’t solidified my plans. Eeep.

In truth, the hardest part about this is the first step. “Maybe one day…” is pretty much a recipe for it never happening. For me, this is GOING to happen. It will, because I refuse to spend my life hating my job, and I know that I have what it takes to do what I love for a living if I play my cards right. So, I’ve given myself a timeline: five years. In those five years I will save up enough money to quit my job for at least one or two years, continue working on my art while I can, and learn more about how to start my own business.

If I could afford to, I would love to be able to quit my stank ass job and just draw for a living. My work literally sucks the creativity out of my soul…when I get home, all I want to do is sit and watch TV. And that’s sad.
