Lately I’ve been profusely complaining about outrageous ski lift ticket prices, but after seeing this picture that my Dad took I feel that I got my money’s worth.
A lot of our family went up to Mission Ridge for a day of skiing. My two little cousins rented snowboards and biffed it up on the easy runs the whole day. I went with them for a few runs, but later me and my dad went up to the top.
The clouds had gone away and we had one of the most amazing views of the Wenatchee Valley that I have ever seen. However, I seem to remember that these views are typical on a sunny day at Mission Ridge. But it was the first time I had skied at Mission Ridge in years, so I was stopping to look at the view before almost every run. Now, it was really cold and windy at the top, but just look at that view!
I went skiing almost 6 years ago now with my then-girlfriend. I had never been before, but she had. I told her that I wanted to start on the “bunny hill,” the starter hill. I was very nervous, and took it in slowly. When I got to the bottom, I said “Ok, let’s go to the real hill now.” It was so simple, and FUN! She soon went in because she was cold, but I stayed and skied much more. I even hit a couple of jumps, landing on my back once and tearing my jacket. I have always wanted to go again, but it seems I can never get anybody to go with me. This will definitely be at the top of my list of things I want to do again. So much fun!
I can downhill ski, but I need to learn to ski without snowplowing or wedging. I amd just learning to ski with the skis together – both going the same way most of the time. It’s hard to do after SO many years of skiing the other way!
I don’t understand you white people… it’s cold, painful, expensive, dangerous and scary!
