I’m currently working on a deer hide and so far its going good. I’ve learned from the mistakes I did on the last one, so hopefully this one will turn out better. :-)

I must start researching this too. Need to work on my alter ego and her image…. Would love to train for this in America… especially IOWA.. But, OMFG it is sooooooooooooo super duper expensive… though, i would get to visit Iowa at the same time :oD

I want to learn taxidermy, especially deer and other large game. I have tanned some of my own hides in the past, but want to learn how to do full mounts.

Apparently, this runs in the family, back to my great-grandfather on my mother’s side. It’d be nice to curb my guilt for the various rodents my cat brings home but doesn’t eat—at least they’d be going to SOME use. Specifically, netting me a little extra cash on eBay.

As part of my work, I prepare skulls (and sometimes pelts) of animals that die at our wildlife hospital. But I’d like to be better at it!
